Hotspot Groningen | Feel home at Soof’s en Co
March 20, 2017
It’s time to share a new hotspot in my hometown Groningen with you guys! Soof’s en Co just opened her doors a month ago and I couldn’t resist the temptation to meet Edith and talk about the concept.
Soof’s en Co Groningen
Edith and her daughter Sofie started the lunchroom together. Edith already had a day care for people with mental disabilities and already rented the location for a while. First, it was a day care center where people could make music and radio but when there was just one client over she decided that it was time for a chance.
Soof’s en Co started. A lunchroom for everyone. The lunchroom feels really cozy. It has a piano that everyone can use, and a big wooden table in the center of the room. It’s a perfect spot for students and workers to take a break from home and work on their laptops.
What I really like about the concept is that they really want to be a great place for everyone. So there will be people with and without disability’s working there. I really like how they mix it up and make it a great place for everyone.
What’s on the menu?
Another big bonus about this place is that they try to support local company’s as much as possible by purchasing most of their ingrediënts localy. Their bread is – for example- from the local store BAQ. And most products are biological. For vegan and vegetarians, there are plenty of options and all the coffee and tea is also available ‘on the go’.
The menu’s showcases pantosti’s (tosti’s that are baked in a pan) to salades and a weekly variety of stew what is served in a cute little pot.
If you’re looking for a nice, cozy place to eat in Groningen then I can definitely recommend Soof’s en Co.
Their address is: W.A. Scholtenstraat 9 at Groningen. The lunchroom is open from Monday- Friday.
