Looking for some cute sustainable shoes?

April 15, 2017

Sustainable shoes. I love them but I have to be honest: finding them is a pain in the ass. I mean: where can you find fashionable shoes that are also cruelty free? Do you feel the struggle? Than your going to be thrilled with this blog article!

Meet Pretty & Fair

Pretty & Fair is a Dutch brand that makes sustainable shoes that are pretty and fair. The Founder, Alinda van Teeckelenburgh worked in the shoe industry for over 15 years. During that time she realized that the production of shoes is more about the numbers and prices than about planet and people. She decided to start her own shoe label Pretty & Fair in 2016.

Pretty & Fair offers you 2 collections. The Eco line and the Happy Veggie line. Every ingredient that is used for making the products, is carefully selected. They use natural rubber for the soles, recycled PET bottles for the zippers and the glue is on water base.

Pretty & Fair wants to use the most sustainable products available. The shoes are produced in Portugal by a small family company that offers good working conditions for the makers.

What I totally love about this brand is how Alinda passion for shoes and natural fabrics. It’s such an inspiration to see that someone that is working in the ‘regular’ fashion industry made a switch and started creating something new. Next to that the shoes are super comfortable and stylish. From Pretty & Fair I received my first pair of sustainable shoes and I have to be honest: they don’t only look cute, they are super comfy as well!

We just moved to Sicily for the next 3 years. We are looking to travel extensively during that time all over Europe. Of course that requires a lot of walking. Are there any stylish and cute walking shoes that are not sneakers and will not kill my feet? I am prone to blisters and my feet hate me when there is no support in my shoes.

Hi Maccen, I think these shoes are comfy but you can also go for a regular pair of Adidas sneakers. In Europe you def need some good sneakers since there are a lot of old roads in the city’s. If you want something stylish: def go for the newest Adidas sneakers.
